 The Berkey MP Solar™ charger - your environmental friendly source of free electricity from the sun. This portable system is book-size when folded and can easily be placed in a briefcase, handbag or glove compartment. The built-in battery cabin containing six rechargeable batteries provides for a flexible and convenient source of auxiliary backup power at night or whenever sunlight is not available.

 The Berkey MP Solar charger is designed for use in conjunction with the Berkey Light LED Base. The Berkey LED lamps are unique because incredibly, they have an average life of more than 11 years of continuous use and are so bright they can be spotted for over a mile in the dark yet, they require very small amounts of energy. The LED technology is more expensive than traditional light bulbs but it is worth every penny because the low energy LED's can save hundreds of dollars in replacement batteries alone. The Berkey MP Solar charger can be used during the day to recharge the Berkey Base batteries for later use at night. It also has its own internal batteries, which can be used to power The Berkey Light LED Base.

 The Berkey MP Solar charger is easy to use. Simply place the Berkey MP Solar charger in a sunny location, select the proper voltage, plug in your application and the Berkey MP Solar charger begins charging. The built-in indicator light confirms the application is charging.

 Disconnect your application and the system automatically begins charging its own powerful Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries and & there's no guesswork because the "battery full" indicator light turns on when the batteries are fully charged.  Notes:
1) Batteries degrade when they become overheated. When charging the Berkey Light LED Base or any other application that has rechargeable batteries, if possible, it is strongly recommended that the application (such as the Berkey Light LED Base) be placed in a shady area to prevent the rechargeable batteries from overheating.

2) To prevent the rechargeable batteries within the Berkey MP Solar charger from overheating, it is recommended that they be charged no longer than 4-6 hours at a time.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Unfold the solar charger and place it in a sunny location facing directly at the sun.
When the plug is inserted into the outlet jack, charging process then begins, charging process can be seen from the charging indicator. When connecting wire is disconnected, the solar charger stops charging the application and begins charging the rechargeable batteries. No ON/OFF switch is needed.
BATTERY CABIN:
1. Install rechargeable batteries: use a screwdriver to release the cover, and insert the 6 AAA rechargeable batteries into the built-in battery cabin and replace the cover.
2. When disconnected from applications, the solar charger can automatically charges its own internal rechargeable batteries. Simply leave the solar charger under direct sunlight until the "battery full" indicator turns on.
3. 7.2V outlet jack is designed to take power from the rechargeable batteries. Simply plug your application into this jack, you will then have an instant backup power source.
POWER APPLICATIONS:
1. Choose the suitable voltage according to your application. The solar output voltage can be interchanged between 6V and 12V by shifting the voltage switch. 6V output is to power those applications wherein the voltage required is equal to or below 6V. The 12V output is to power those applications wherein the voltage required is between 6V and 12V.
2. Plug connecting wire into the Berkey MP Solar charger.
3. Plug the multi-purpose adapter into the connecting wire.
4. Plug the multi-purpose adapter into the Berkey Light Base or other application.
CHARGING MOBILE PHONES:
1. Choose the suitable voltage required by you mobile phone.
2. Plug connecting wire into the Berkey MP Solar charger.
3. Plug the multi-purpose mobile phone adapter into the connecting wire.
4. Connect phone adapter to your mobile phone
CAUTION:
The Berkey MP Solar charger is designed to charge one application at a time.
The Berkey MP Solar charger is not waterproof. Do not utilize in wet or rainy conditions.
